Chef Jill Houk
Chef Jill Houk is a professional chef, healthy lifestyle promoter, product spokesperson, and culinary consultant. She specializes in healthy cooking, consumer engagement, recipe development, cooking instruction, and new product development.
Chef Jill honed her culinary skills as a professional catering chef and cooking instructor. Originally pursuing a career in information technology consulting, she now adeptly mixes the research and project-management skills practiced in information technology with knowledge of flavors, cooking techniques, and consumer dining trends that she’s learned as a chef. This dynamic combination enables her to create food-related strategies and tactics that promote and sell products for clients such as Ajinomoto, Applegate Farms, Driscoll’s Berries, Mizkan, Tyson Foods and its suite of companies (Ball Park Franks, Bryan Foods, Gallo Salame, Hillshire Farm, Jimmy Dean, Sara Lee Deli, Sara Lee Sweets, and Senseo), Unilever, and World Kitchen brands (Baker’s Secret, Chicago Cutlery, Corelle, CorningWare, Pyrex, SnapWare).
With a polished yet fun style, Chef Jill has appeared across a variety of media, including local and national television (Good Morning America, Lifetime Television’s The Balancing Act), over radio, on the internet, and in trade shows. Some of her favorite work includes working with parents to bring enhanced nutrition to the food they feed their families, as well as teaching children how to choose healthy foods and prepare simple dishes.
In addition, Chef Jill is active in many non-profit organizations that focus on the connection between food and health, such as the American Heart Association, Healthy Schools Campaign, and Purple Asparagus. When not working or volunteering, Jill is cooking for her husband and son, running, biking, and traveling.
